Just a quick question. It states "beach", does this mean running on the sand or a road alongside the beach? It does seem like they mean sand?

Looks suspiciously like the beach, looking at the description and map :)

Yeah, the map is a tad misleading, cutting through the water and all.

    Biko

The race will run through Dookinella village and cross onto the beach. It will finish with a run along the sands of Keel strand. Tide will be out - on't worry!

Thanks, just wondering as sand can be hard running on unless it's compacted.

would hard running not be the attraction of this event??

Nah just a leisurely trot :D
The last section was indeed on the sand but it was compacted.

I've run on soft sand before and it's really tough going.
