Thanks I've got a 120gb classic why does memory seem so low in comparison is it because they use a different system.

8gb seems a bit low but another 100€ to go up to 32gb?

8 will be fine for a 13 year old. I have 52GB of music in iTunes, and I used to love having it all with me on my iPod classic, but when I got an 8GB Touch, I found that carrying just over 1,000 songs at any one time was more than enough.

Also, Xtravision sell them. Bought mine at about 10PM on an Sunday night, which was handy.

On an 8 right now. Its fine even with watching movies on it.

Also get a case. It WILL get wrecked in a weak otherwise.

I'd recommend getting the 32gb version. Not so much for the space, but it's more future-proof. In a few months it'll be able to do loads more than the 8gb model. It's more powerful, etc.

    For a 13yo girl: apps:

    1. Facebook app. Free and deadly.

    2. IM+ - around a fiver, but great for chatting to her contacts over msn, gmail chat, facebook, etc. Really really good. Does everything.

    3. Flight control. 99c, but the best game I've ever played on one of these!

    4. Skype. Super, super cheap calls to landlines. Won't work on 32gb model, doesn't support voice input. Also, 8gb has no speaker. Also, faster Internet.

    5. Eirtext. Free texts! Seriously. It's awesome. Works through your online webtexrs that you get with your cell provider.

Also: get a case for it! I've had to touches and two cracked screens. Seriously. Get a bendy plastic case.

She'll love the iPod. They're beautiful devices.

You'll need iTunes vouchers to purchase apps through the iPod, but there are bazillions of free apps. You can get them in any music shop.

    Two more apps:

MyPhone+ will sync her facebook friends to her iPods contacts.

"Dessid" will let get use the Internet through any eircom landline connection. Good for when she's in friends houses :)

I"ve got an Ipod classic (only 14mths old) but never realised there was so much going on with the apps so if I were to change in future would I go for an I phone or Ipod touch apart from the phone what is the difference.

    Thanks
