    Hi folks,

As per the title in the subject bar, I'm only back in work today having been stranded in Madrid for 3 days.

Quick question: from a legal perspective, am I entitled to full pay for these missing days? I'm in full-time employment.

    TIA!

No but you should be entitled to some form of payment whether it is social welfare or goverment handout or insurance compensation or employment insurance form the company.

If the other volcanoe blows then we shall see a recession like no other. It is 20 times more powerful and activity is up 200% and it historically erupts in tandem with the smaller volcanoe.

If that happens there will have to be some form of compensation for workers.
Management can fukc off though, they caused all of this to happen.

Employer under no obligation to pay you if you were not available for work.

If this is the case, can the company automtically take these 3 days from your allotted holiday time without prior consulting you?

No. Only by agreement. However, this way gives you "pay" for your days while absent. The alternative is nothing at all.

True, unless your contract of employment says otherwise but I suspect this would be very rare indeed.

Can we take it that it wasn't a business trip?

No, it wasn't a business trip. I'm sure that my terms of employment, like most, state that I have to be available for work and in attendance in order to get paid.

I just thought, due to the force majeure nature of events, I may have got paid. Only one way to find out I guess.... ask H.R. on Monday:D

Had I of feigned sickness for those 3 days I would've got paid (but I'm not that type!).
