BOI is a privately owned company. The Government are a minority shareholder.

I think it's a mortgage trained in suerveillance techniques, it literally tracks your movements and keeps an eye on ya.

Thanks. I don't know what a fixed rate mortgage is.

This is similar to a tracker mortgage, in that it will keep you under surveillance providing it receives a regular fixed payment for doing so.

Feel free to correct me, I'm fairly confused with the whole NAMA thing, but as far as I know, NAMA bought any loans over €5 million from the major banks. Therefore NAMA (or the taxpayers) own the loans, they get any money paid back from the developers etc. for these loans. They didn't actually buy any shares in the banks therefore the taxpayers don't own the banks...

Please correct me if this is incorrect, I would really like to understand this rather than claiming "They tuk aur monies!"

You can almost bet that most of the people that complain about NAMA etc are on the social welfare. I also like how people like to think they represent all the Irish taxpayers when they say "Nama rabble rabble is costing taxpayer rabble rabble". I am a taxpayer, whatever it takes to get the irish economy up and running is all good by by me, everyone bleats on about how our children will be paying for this for years, if this system isn't implemented our children won't have an economy to work for! THe only thing people should be concentrating on is getting their votes sorted for the next general election, then you can put up or shut up.

Most bankers are people who work in a bank to make a living like everybody else but are begrudged good wages and bonuses. A very very few top bankers who were in league with developers caused a lot of problems. The above groups are often mixed up by clueless people.

You can almost be certain that people who generalise, are generally wrong.

    Soden,

Don't set up multiple threads and try to **** stir.

Don't bring your banking sector hatred across all the forums.

I've taken a look at your posting history.

Thread locked. Will have a word with the other mods
