i dont have phone in the house. I have a wireless network for internet . But the router and modem is at the other side of the house.

Its true tinypop is doing this as well. Could it be the nextdoors phone? We live in a town house.

Has nothing really to do with phones, its to do with broadband (wireless) providers. It affects different people to different degrees due to how strong the signal can be, so in urban area's the tv signal wil be breaking up more.

I had irish broadband once(3 days) and got no tv signal at all during that time. check for broadband recievers near to your dish (on peoples chimney stack's),although you wont be able to do anything about it.

just tune in uk version where able to, easiest solution.

Indeed it could be his router or as the OP said his neighbour has a phone.

I would suggest that he ask his neighbour to plug out the phone while he is watching one of the channels thats affected just so he can eliminate the phone from the problem.

The dect phone problem is widely Known

Could be your router or neigbour's router or phone. If properly screened cable is used, the problem is usually eliminated (CT100, TX100 etc.)
Also check that any joins in the cable are done properly using 2 f connectors and an f barrel.
If there is an outlet plate (especially if an odrinary belling-lee Co-ax plug type has been used- many cowboys do this to save time if the house is pre-wired), eliminate it and join the cable directly usinng f connectors and barrel.

Has everything to do with phones! DECT devices and wireless routers are the usual cause.
WISPs (Wireless ISPs) are not a problem. Frequencies used are higher than Satellite IF.
