IPhone - Sync in Progress takes ages and ages

Why does the IPhone Sync take for ages?

In Itunes, it keeps hanging on "syncing notes with IPhone" usually after 20 mins I just "slide to cancel" on the IPhone. I don't even use the note feature. Anyone else have this problem?

Running Vista on a factory unlocked IPhone 3GS, latest firmware.

When the iPhone is connected to iTunes, cancel the sync. Click on summary tab which is above the big picture of your iPhone. Untick the notes box and hopefully should do the trick.

Thanks for that, thats fixed the 'Notes' problem.

I followed this for the backup delay and it has really improved the backup from an hour to 2-3 minutes.

Now, if I could sort the slow "updating contacts" to google, I'd be in business! That takes ages to, even for 2 new contacts it could take 20 minutes..

Thank you, I think you have just solved the problem I had raised on this separate thread. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055897962. Did a sync there in about a minute compared to hours previously. :D

it's a clever way of solving the backup problem. I'd say everyone clicks the yes button when setting up the iPhone and then spend hours waiting for the iPhone to connect to the apple server.

I wonder if there is a way of solving the contacts backup. I'd nearly switch of that option to speed up the sync but it is handy.
