yes you can do it yourself, but you have to way up the pro's and con's, is it worth it, is the laptop old, getting a bit funny, have you the skills to do it yourself or will you need to pay somone.

I called Dell support, they call me back tomorrow with a quote....hope to stay around 100€, but I am not sure of the price ranges...

Unfortunately it will cost a lot more than €100 directly from dell, i'd hazard a guess and say they would charge €300+. Your best bet would be to find out exactly what display it is and search for one on ebay, then you would have a chance of getting it for around that price.
What laptop is it? How old is it? What spec etc? As if the laptop is old, it may not be worth it.

HP quoted me $600 to replace my screen. Naturally they wanted to swap the entire lid.

ANywho, you can buy them online for the equivalent of $120 or so, and do the labor yourself. Its just a bunch of steady-work.

Would you know if there is any type of screen I could buy which could be used outside also and good against the glare?
