    Hi Guys,

I have some money in prize bonds and have won some prizes recently.. nothing over 75 euros.

From speaking with others that have also won I have never met anyone that won more than 75 euros..

So... Has anyone ever won more than 75 euros on the prize bonds (or know of anyone that has) ?

    jayo

A friend of mine has won twice, a couple of grand each time, but both were a good few years ago.

How many have you? I bought 10K punts worth in the 90's, win 75euro about twice a year since then

It's not gambling as you get the money back.

I won a grand and 75 on the one day but then again I have a lot of bonds. The chances of two numbers as close as this coming up on the one day are small enough. If you look at the winning numbers on the Prize Bonds site you can see gaps of many 10's of thousands between winners, it is all random.

Ever notice how people say they have a prize bond for years and never won anything but don't realise one prize bond is not a great chance. I won a good few 75's but nothing bigger

Is there alist of winners or amounts theywon anywhere? When was the last time anyone won the 100K? Is it guaranteed to be won by someone every week?

ive never heard of anyone winning anything big on them. i have prize bonds since i was born which is 30 years and i havent wont a penny on them. and the website claims they give out weekly prizes of €20,000 and MONTHLY prizes of €1,000,000!! surely in such a small country we would all know somebody who won this? something dodgy about it if you ask me....

There's a lot of big money invested in Prize Bonds, which means the chances of the owners of 25 or 50 euro worth of Prize Bonds coming up as a major prize winner are pretty slim.

I have 5 prize bonds bought for me in 1977. One of them came up as a €75 winner last year. Compared to a deposit account, that's probably a fair return!

Here is a log of €25,000 in prize bonds.

I know someone who invested €100,000 in prize bonds a couple of months ago and there's a couple of cheques in the post for him every week!

My dad put €1K into prize bonds for me about 2.5 years ago. Since then I have won 4 times, each time with an amount of 75eur - happy days :) If I was to compare to a savings account it has probably worked out at a better interest rate as it equates to 30% in 2.5 years (but I got lucky of course).

My sister got 1K in prize bonds at the same time and hasn't won a thing.

The website itself says you have a 3.6/1 chance of winning if you own €1000 worth.

For those who have only one or two, start investing!
