Firmware Update 3.30

Up today and am downloading it now, but it seems like a rubbish update. All it does is give you different options to sort your trophies by, and 'preps' the PS3 for future 3D stuff

downloaded this this morning and tbh i had to google it to find out what the changes were via this firmware, after reading about it this mornin, i viewed it as quite a minor update for me, dont get me wrong i love my trophies i just dont think it was significant enough a change to put into a fw update all of its own. i would be interested to see the logic behind it

its got an upgraded flash player in the update too yay

It downloaded for me in less than 2 mins, I think it actually took longer to install

It add's a new version of flash so youtube and other flash based sites work through the ps3 browser now. I think the trophy sorting feature is nice, makes it easier to compare with friends, and you can sort by order too eg, plat-gold-silver-bronze.

According to thinq: the real upgrade feature of this update is the EULA modification:

The way they interpret it, is that it enables Sony to force modifications/upgrades/downgrades from Sony onto someones PS3 without having to notify or ask the user.

Slightly unrelated - VidZone becomes VidZone TV today with an update creating 100 music TV channels - some of them are really good but it takes a while to laod

Eh you all should take note of this. The Eula you digitally signed on that new firmware update technically means you don't own your PS3 anymore. Sony have the right to change or manipulate your PS3 even if you're not online. Hint hint.

They can do what they want now with your system.

According to your own link its been there since 1.0? Doesn't make it any more palatable, though.

Guys WTF, anyone having the same problem as me?

Basically it's going at a snail's pace this update, and when it gets to around 5% after 20 minutes it freezes.

This is a fkn nightmare.

I can't find the 3.30 on Sony's website to install via storage media.

Anyone have a link?
