    About a year ago I posted about my experiences at Thamkrabok temple in Thailand. This is a detox facility that is becoming increasingly popular with people from Ireland and the rest of the world. I was a drunk for twenty years and had tried everything else before arriving there. Anyway, my story has been turned into a book called Dead Drunk that is due for release in Ireland and elsewhere next week. I will be making a few media appearances in Ireland to promote the release.I will also be giving a public talk in the Irish Writer's Centre;

    Title: Does Wat Thamkrabok Offer a Wonder Cure for Addiction?
    Venue; Irish Writer's Centre Parnell Square
    Time: 19:00 4 May 2010

    If anyone is interested please visit the Dead Drunk Facebook Page.

    I will understand if the moderators feel the need to remove this shameless piece of self-promotion :-)

    Congratulations. I don't think this is technically an advert, it's a success story! Well done.

    Paul, we spoke briefly over PM about a year ago. It's a shame the meeting is the 4th of May as I'm back to work that day.

    Do you have any plans for a visit to the west while you are in Ireland? I would love to meet up with you to discuss your book.

    Are you in Dublin the May bank holiday weekend. I might be able to travel to Dublin that weekend.

    Hi O, I'm in Ireland until the 12th of May. The publisher is arranging a few things for me in the media, but I haven't been given all the details. I'll publish them on my Facebook page as I find out.

    How are you keeping anyway?
    Is it really a year since your PM? They don't lie about time speeding up when you hit forty.

    Sweet. I'll join the page when I get home later this evening. :)

    I'm doing great. Way better than where I was when we last spoke anyway! Time flies when you're sober. :p

    Enjoy your stay in Ireland my friend. How long is it now since you've been here?

    I was back last year. I'm trying to come back every year so as to introduce my son to Irish culture.

    It went really well; I was so delighted that people turned up. I know it can be difficult for people to go somewhere on a weekday evening so I appreciated it.

    Thanks Dave. I've found it's a lot easier to do well when I'm not drunk all the time :)
