    Yo...calling all techies!
Anyone good at formatting in microsoft word? I'm working here with one of the girls and every few minutes the paragraph jumps and separates itself for no reason. It's getting increasingly hard not to fling the laptop out the window.
    If anyone can help please!!!

Argh the same thing kept happening when I was helping my dad with one of his assignments! I nearly broke the computer lol :D I found cutting and pasting into a new document worked (you have to do it bit by bit though), and making sure that it was formatted properly from the start :)

Try going into "Format" ---> "paragraph" and check if anything is up there.

Basically, she had to retype the entire essay, which is rubbish.
No reason why .it happened. Thanks for the help though

Theres almost definetly a reason why this happened.
Usually some formatting setting or anchor or other generic item in word formatting that can do it.
I would usually do a Copy and Paste Special into a new document, not taking any of the formatting tags with it if I couldnt figure out why the formatting was getting changed on me.

Hmm.. I HATE word... had to write my masters thesis in it and it was awful, figures kept on jumping down to the next pages and stuff like that...

bit late for your mate but if they are doing a course that requires a lot of writing then they should learn how to use LaTex its a text formatting tool/language.. bit of a learning curve but definitely worth it.

if they cant/dont change then the only thing i can think of is paragraph spacing, select all ->right click ->paragraph and mess about with the settings there :)

If you copied and pasted into something like notepad and then from there into Word, the formatting would defo not go with it.

Word only does what you tell it to.
