    Hi Guys,

I need two fillings; i have contacted two dentists in Dublin and the average price is €90.
I really can't afford to pay €180 for two fillings, will anyone recommend any reasonably priced dentist in Dublin?

4yrs ago i paid €80 for fillings and now the same dentist is asking for €95
    :(

How big are the fillings? What teeth ? White or silver fillings ?

    I'm in the same boat...

I have 2 small cavities at the base of my 2 front teeth-lower jaw(pin head size) that just appeared recently..

Rang the dentist my Dad uses, was told 90 for a check up with cleaning(even though I don't want a cleaning) and 100-130 per white filling..that's already up to 350 for 2 fillings, and I probably need a couple more that I don't know about:(

I will be in Bangkok for a few days in a few months time, is it likely that I can hold off till then? Did some research, and I can to a very expensive(by local standards) place with a good rep and get 2 fillings and cleaning for 70 euro..just not sure if it's a good idea to wait till then..

Maybe your dentist is the best value dentist in the world, if you cant tell us about the specification of the job how can anyone tell you if its good value or not.

I use ***mod edit** Dental clinics in Dublin. Find them to be fairly reasonable and you get extra 10% off if you have health insurance with ***mod edit***. Check them out on their website.

Do you pay PRSI? Up until the new year it contributed €30 per filling, if so your dentist has not passed on the whole cost which (s)he could have done.

The PRSI thing is a kick in the teeth (Pardon the Pun) but I paid €115 the other day at my dentist for a large enough white filling, my PRIS would of covered nearly half of it and all I would of had to of pay was €63...Week before got a checkup, got spit n polish and that cost me €40....

I have been going to my Dentist for years, this PRSI non payment is affecting my Dentist, as he told me his business is down a good bit. They might even go on a 3 day week..

Look lads I know its expensive, but if the tooth goes beyond repair when you could have got it filled it aint nice to be gummy. Get the two fillings done somehow.

Also the poster who is going abroad I wouldn't wait...
