    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

There's a lot of information about classic insurance in the charter. May I suggest you have a look there first? ;)

I seem to remember that that is the very minimum 3rd party.

Well i did say third party, and third party cover is what it is no matter what way you look at it. If it was third pary fire and theft thats a totally different type of cover as it is with all policies,
I never realised that there is a minimum and maximum level of basic third party cover maybe you could explain as im curious, Thanks

Just meant it was the minimum type of insurance you could get, not that there are different levels of third party. I stayed away from jsut 3rd party as I have an old car with old wiring (for fire) and if I wrapped it around a tree, or it got stolen and crashed I'd be down a bit of money :(

You can try Carole Nash, they're probably one of the larger classic insurers in Ireland.
I have tried them myself several times but every time I ring them they have another problem with me or the car I'm trying to insure.

I'm with First Ireland myself, both my normal and classic car, and I can't recomend them highly enough.
Granted, I haven't had any accidents so I can't talk for that side of things,
but the cover and price is excellent, and they seem to be the only insurance
crowd I have rang who actually give a damn!

I moved from AXA (who were excellent) to Aviva (who were cheaper) this year.
They seem to be new to the classic car market and were very efficient.

If you have health/home insurance with them you get 10% off for each.

I did exactly that last year, and am moving back to AXA now as they're cheaper for me this time around.:)
