Does anyone know how it actually works?


I was trying to read the rules and goal on the Warcontext website but they deleted the PDF and mission.

Seemingly theres tournaments playing Domination style missions and results go into a league format


is it time to complete? Kills? Missions done?

After playing the other night and PCFormat running one i would be interested in how it works.


Btw PCformat and PCgamer fornicate over this game, its like the one true last bastion of PC FPS thats out. Picked up a copy of each and both bascially wnak all over it in every issue. Wonder if its more so out of necessity.

Theres load of these going on just dont know how they work , doesnt seem to fit the clanbase style of match ups.

Its just a points system, You get points for kills, medics will get points for heals (not working for them yet), AT get points for tanks, get points for being in the main mission town when its cleared, get points for side mission clear etc. Not really sure myself other than that

You were supposed to be with us, I was first to join and asked to be leader, they originally had 4 squad leaders but numbers didnt allow. The plan was to have our crew all together

if we could get the numbers i would be interested in entering, tbh we have the infantry(everyone) and air specialists(max and cheesey) just a matter of getting them all online together. Tbh we are fairly ****ing good at the game and generally play it as its meant to be played (cept when we clear a mission then its FFA )

Gist of this is 40 players play a round of Domination for a predetermined time.

Highest scorers win.

Flawed atm but they working on things like the tank driver gets a kill for everything maimed by his gunners.

chopper pilots get points for succesful drops.

Atm kill everything and stay in the main towns will get your 00000s of points.

PCGamer/Format (not sure) held a large scale co-op with TacticalGamer. Was amazing. Had one guy running around taking photos and interviewing people after the match. Great that not only the game, not only the communities/groups but the individual skirmishes get publicity!

He said there'll be a signup form to fill in and that testers get priority of the places

The night vision mod is in the suggested pack for anyone who doesnt have it.

And they are using an old CBA which is in the required pack, i use profiles in arma launcher one for sparkle and one for our server.

All,

Tomorrow evening sees the first night of the Chernarus Rhapsody. For the next six weeks Thursday night will be filled with bullets, blood and bombs.

Please check your team position on the signup page (http://www.rarius.co.uk/signup/default.asp) If you cannot make it, please email Rarius (rarius@rarius.co.uk) to say so. If you tell us before hand, we'll try to keep your slot open for later games. If you just don't turn up, your slot may well be reassigned.

Game start
The game will start at 20:00 BST (19:00 GMT), so please be logged into the server in good time. If you are late, your place may be given to one of the reserve players. Please be logged into Mumble as well. Admins will be available to move people into appropriate channels if need be.

Both servers will be up and running an hour before game time, so please try to join the ArmA2 server and download the mission file during this time so that we don't all try to download it at game start.

Addons
We have an updated set of addons for this mission. We have three mirrors for you to download it from, listed below. Just unzip the file into your ArmA2 directory. It will create two new subdirectories, @PCFormat_Required and userconfig.

Please ONLY use the supplied @PCFormat_Required addon. Other known good addons such as VOP_Sounds etc may be used at the admins sufference. If an admin requests that you remove an addon, please do so. Refusal to comply may result in you being excluded from the game.

Your ArmA2 shortcut should point at the following:
"C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -mod=@PCFormat_Required

Poxy being leader, weapon selections are shíte, so bad I was finding it hard to shoot, ended up using an m4 with acog which has a shíte range. I got no points for any kills with arty, even took out tanks with it. Satcheled 3 towers and got no points for them either. No points for calling ammo drops. :mad:

Yeh, I had to leave a bit early. My squad was all over the place. One minute we're engaging in the treeline, the next, half the squad are a mile away in front of our fire.
