Saw it the other day and have to say it is v.v.good. It is a personal dramatisation of his conflict of interests personally and professionally whilst writing his theory. Some v.emotional moments that are very well done and very well acted by Paul.

Overall I really enjoyed this movie, it was one of those films that is a gem that is much underhyped. Definitely one to watch. It's out for rent at the moment, for those interested, Enjoy.

Decent enough film I thought. Film definitely at its best when it is dealing with issues of faith and belief, and society's reaction to that. The story of Darwin and his daughter wasn't quite as compelling, but it does compliment the bigger ideas, even if the film does get bogged down with it. Good performances, quite a grim film on the whole but often gets into the mind of a very important thinker when it isn't concerned with melodrama.

I forgot to mention the fact that it was a bit melodramatic as a film. Darwins relationship with his 9yr old was important though, he mentions her in the third chapter of his written theory.

Plus he wrote about her a lot due to a broken heart and the film managed this feeling well. Tis amazing in this sense, that despite all the conflicts that he had in his life that he managed to finish possibly one of the most important and influential works of our time.

I personally found the film surprisingly sentimental and almost beautiful. To me it made Darwin more human and interesting outside the textbook study of his works.

Oh and thanks for correcting the title.
