cant play cd's or DVD's

i have a toshiba satellite pro A210 and the last few months it hasnt let me play any cd's or dvd's even when i go into real player or windows media player they become unresponsive when i try open the dvd drive

anyone got any solutions for this problem

Buy a dvd/cd lens cleaner disc cost 2 euro in a 2 euro shop.
Follow the instructions.
Or try downloading vlc media player, it plays cds, dvds any media format.

I'd say the drive is fecked then. Do as poster above says and get yourself a new drive.

YOU COULD TRY a linux livecd in it, or reinstalll the CD driver.

how would i reinstall the driver would i need a cd that came with the laptop
