Dell delivery methods

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place for this. Does dell deliver their machines from Poland by sea or air? I always thought it was by sea but numerous people have told me that valuables like laptops would be sent by air.

Does anyone have any comments on this? Really don't the ash cloud to have delayed my laptop!

Oh trust me my friend, it's got nothing to do with the ash.
I got my Dell laptop just over a year ago and the hassle i went to get it was unreal. I placed my order around the end of January/start of February and it took 2-3 weeks for it to be approved. The order included Laptop, Carry-Bag, External hard-drive, and other misc. software.

Then when it was finally approved, I was told i would recieve my order by say the forst 1st/2nd week of March (Not sure of dates). So about a week after the due date, I finally got an e-mail fro mthe delivery company sayin it would arrive in 2 days time (a thursday i think). That was grand, until i get a phone call Thursday afternoon, from the Delivery company saying that the Docket said there was 3 boxes but they only had 2, so they had to go back to the depot, contact dell and wait for the other box. Now it took another 2 weeks (after a lot of bollocking on the phone to Dell) for my order to finally arrive. Now when i get home that day, I was surprised to see 3 fairly large boxes waiting for me. I opened the first one, it was the laptop with all the discs, etc. Opened box number 2, it was my carry-case. Box number 3, another carry-case (i only ordered one), but no sign of my external hard drive.

So that was the last straw, really got me pissed. Rang Dell explained i got no hard drive (but didnt say i got the extra bag ), and it took another wee kfor it to arrive.

All in all a terrible experience!!!!!! Hope its not this bad for you.
