Playing the Course Twice

    Hi

Just wondering if someone knew the answer to this. Can I play a golf course or part of a golf course twice in 1 day, one being as part of a competition?

Here's the full story. I am due to play at 1.30 tomorrow in a Fourball Stableford Competition for a bit of fun with my friends, we play pritty much ever thrusday together. Another friend asked me to go out tomorrow morning for a game in the same club (were both members there so no point going to another place to pay green fees). We would only be playing 9-12 holes or so.

If I'm not mistaken there is some rule about not playing the course before a competition round, but not sure if this only applies to singles or to other comps like 4 balls and team events etc.

If someone can let me know as soon as possible that'd be great.

    Thanks
    Ian

You are only allowed play the course before a competitive round if

    1. The competitive round is Matchplay
    or
    2. It's a multiple re-entry for the same competition.

Your friendly 9-12 holes will disqualify you from the afternoon competition.

Is there some sort of technicality where you can tee up outside the official teeing area during the casual round and you're not deemed to have played the competition course?
