Buying Dell Laptop

    Hi,

I bought a dell laptop direct from Dell online last week the 14th. The estimated delivery date given on my order confirmation was 26th April. I checked this morning the status and it said my order had been cancelled. A little later I received a new order confirmation from Dell with a new estimated delivery date of 11th May. This has really annoyed me as they put a new order date on the confirmation of today so it now looks as though i only ordered the laptop today and not last week.
If i had known before purchasing that it would take nearly a month at least before I received my laptop I would have just purchased it in a store. Has anybody else had this happen to them? Would I be in my rights to now cancel the order without any charge so that I could go and buy in a store? I dont want to wait another 2 1/2 weeks for the laptop:mad:

They are a terrible service. Check the link below, for my post in another topic about my experience with Dell.

I ordered mine on the 6th and it arrived on the 13th but the estimation was the 26th....
Your laptop is coming from poland so, as there haven't been planes thats probably most of the delay.

hey, thanks for the replies. i didnt mind the delay as much as the way they went about it. Cancelling the order and then issuing a new order. anyway i sent an email to their customer services on Wednesday complaining about the service. I received a reply today and my laptop is now with the couriers so i should have in 3-5 working days. Happy days now!!

Good for you. The people at Dell don't really seem to give a crap about anything until they realise 'Oh no, someone's complained about me. Better sort it out right away.'

Just out of curiosity, what laptop did u get?

Ordered one from the Dell outlet on the 20th and rang and they said they are shipping it today. When I asked from where they said Hungary:rolleyes: Lets hope that unpronouncable volcano does not re-errupt:D The delivery date is 27th 7 day turnaround
