"I do not. Millions will die of starvation in the coming Ice Age while vast herds of caribou roam the land that we are not able catch because we have wilfully and with malice discarded valuable hunting skills with dogs that mankind has honed over the generations gone by. These skills will have to be relearned at an horrendous cost to us all. If they can be relearned at all in the absence of suitable dogs. This government wrongdoing is worse even that that which caused the housing bubble. At least after the housing bubble you still have the houses."

I voted to ban it..good riddance!

Ive noticed the 66% yes and 34% no vote has not changed from yesterday.

I find that a bit strange for an ongoing vote. I would have thought there would be some change or movment on it one way or the other given the amount of interest in the topic.

    Maybe I'm wrong.

Does anyone else think it odd?

Not really, statistically a sample of a population is representative of the whole population.

So unless a vested interest starts to skew the results one way or the other I wouldn't expect it to change drastically with more and more votes.

I would have thought the percentages were based on the number of votes received for and against. I agree that this sample should reflect the sentiment of the population as a whole, isnt that the whole point of a poll and voting.

So I would have expected more votes to cause a change, maybe not a dramatic one but some fluctuation would be expected, unless the proportion of new votes for and against remained exactly the same since yesterday. Im sure the numbers voting arent massive so any change would be noticable.

I guess most of the voting must have been done before yesterday or maybe it hasnt been updated since yesterday.

    Exactamundo

So more votes will not effect the trend in a major way if they are in keeping with the whole population

Now if we are asking, why hasn't the figure moved much since we started voting and trying to bias it. Well that's a different question :D

EDIT: Oh I see, it's the exact same % as yesterday. I thought you were saying it was still around the same. Maybe poll was closed

not too many people i know read the irish times

Their polls are badly moderated & very selective about what gets posted.
