Could IW could thwart boosters?

I was thinking about this and wonder what IW could do (in reality) to combat the issue. The main problem is the use of Tactical Insertion.

I'm sure this would be relatively easy for IW to implement with a patch. I was thinking....

    • Only permit the use of the Tac Insertion in a single class.
    • Only allow the user to select this class 3 times consecutively

After the booster has selected this class the max permitted 3 times, simply disable or 'grey out' this class and force the boosters to select an alternate class with no TI.

Would this alleviate the problem in some way? Or would there be ways around this?

Even if there was 2/3/4 guys in cahoots, it would make it alot more difficult to nuke boost.

Not really as the boosters would just run back to each other or do it in private matches on Rust as its so small. Boosters are easy to spot anyway, they usually have clan tags in a FFA game, and if you see UAv's and care packages appearing a few seconds into the game just head for where there'll be a red dot (I dont think I've ever seen a booster used a silenced gun, you'd think they'd know better) Besides ruining boosters is fast becoming a nice side quest for a lot of MW2 players, and its great fun :D

I actually couldn't give a toss what the boosting tards do in private matches. I always look out for the signs of boosting in the early part of a public match, so realise pretty quick when it's going on... and yes, the tards usually have the same clan tag.

Sure it might be fun dishing out some booster justice, but I'm more concerned about trying to find a legit game and trying to get myself a nuke.

The problem is when the other players in the FFA don't know about this side-quest and kill you when you are on your way to their location.

It happened to me 3 times in a row in FFA on the weekend. I spent a few minutes looking for the tards but just as you said, the other players didnt realise what was going on and were taking me out when I went looking.

Not a bad idea. I changed my privacy settings to 'friends only' so I can't communicate with anyone who's not on my list at moment, but I think I'll revert that change for FFA matches.

Funnily enough I saw someone using the tac insertion really to their advantage in a gave of Demolition yesterday, think it's one of the only instances I've seen it being used properly!

Seen it quite a few times in Demolition and Sabotage, have used it myself as well in those modes every now and again.

They're annoying yes, but they aren't cheating - boosters are the equivalent of unicellular algae.

Just remove T.I from FFA games

Its too difficult to boost in other game modes....

tactical insertions are great on demolition. For example on estate you can spawn away from the bomb. I try and get mine in teh toilet in the bedroom of the house and then I just come out and rape the defending team about 5 or 6 times. They never suspect me to be there waiting for them. Silenced weapons add to the fun!
