  • Hey,

Just had a listen to both of these songs. The first one is pretty cool, i like the guitar playing, its pretty tidy, yet laid back.. The vocals are completely undecipherable! You need to turn them up! I did really like the vocal melody line though from what I could hear, kinda trippy and dreamy. Nice.

Second song started really well and continued that way, until we got to the disasterous last 50 seconds or so, the "lead guitar" is terrible here, whoever is playing it need to works out what scale to play in and stick to it. a good lead part doesnt need to have loads of notes and be really fast. It just needs to fit in with what the rhythm guitar is playing, and this one doesnt. I'm sure if you work on it you can definitely improve it because the guitar playing I heard in the rest of this song and the other one is quite good. Would like to hear vocals on this one too, so if you ever do put them up post it on here again,. it does have the makings of a good tune.

    Best of luck.

thanks for the kind words, xyz. you're right the solo at the end needs a lot of work, i thought i had the correct frets figured out but as you can tell i missed a couple of them :) i did a good few takes of that part, some better than others, but that was the one i ended up with when i realized it was getting late and i needed sleep. the final product will be just as erratic, i'm hoping, just with the right notes being hit this time ;) and obviously a plan and less off-the-wall improv

It's a good start. Ignore your man above who should live up to his name.

From your comments you seem to know yourself that there is a lot of work ahead, so that puts you miles ahead of some other musicians.

You have good ideas, now you need to put some genius into it, or failing that, a lot of hard work.

    Good luck.

I like the clean lead parts on both songs - sort of a flamenco thing and sounds nice.

These kinda songs really need vocals to make them more interesting though but they are a good template.

I actually liked the solo at the end of the second one - something a little different - they notes you are using are theoretically wrong but its not a bad attempt.
