Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this? As in does it outclass other guns or is it just outrageously expensive? I'm half way towards buying one and was wondering if anyone has any experience on this?

And no, I have no problems with its' freakish weight or ridiculous length, its' the performance I'm interested in.

because of the one joule limit in Ireland all devices are going to operate in the same area so performance is not an issue hear, once that is out of the way you can look at the positives and negatives

    + looks

    - cost
    - length
    - weight
    - same performance as that light weight vsr
    - full auto aeg ( why ow why )

personally for me it is a collectors piece

well as long as your aware of the limitations then go ahead :) airsoft is 100% a fashion parade

just be aware that i would almost put money on you using it a couple of times and then switching to something a little more light weight ;)

Puding, I was about to post exactly the same thing as your first post, but then I decided not to shatter the man's dreams!

u know I'd forgotten all about my dreams, now where did i put them? Thanks for the advice on trading down, but I know if I do it would be for something as big.
Another quick question, who thinks that having a full auto barrett is kinda unfair?
I know in airsoft that it makes little difference but imagine a real one of those? the recoil would be... interesting,.
Yet, I digress. I think my rambling means i need coffee.

Dude, I see no problem with a full auto barret as it's not like you'll have an unfair advantage over anyone else out there. In fact you'll probably find yourself being outranged by some guy with a decent hop up and a tightbore barrel in an AK or M4! So it's all fair at the 1joule limit...
But, my 2 cents mate, for the price of a barret you could get yourself a couple of really really nice aegs, or a really nice gas blow back assault rifle and a shed load of mags to go with it! Personally I'd prefer a GBB HK 416 and about 10 mags instead of the barret (and I reckon it would cost the same)...

The hk416 does look quite appealing i must admit, especially if I stick a shotgun on it!

That M82 is purely a collectors item. Given that your average assault rifle would match/outrange it and that a reasonably upgraded pistol could even outgun it, it's really nothing more than a wall hanger.
Those who are serious about sniping get a BAR10 or a VSR10 generally. They give a tad more range than your average assault rifle, but they're a lot more accurate and, crucially (given our power limit to engagement range ratio), virtually silent. That's where sniper rifles come into their own. That Barrett is just an M16 with a body kit.

You can get big, angry looking guns, if that's what you're after, that are far more useful and a hell of a lot cheaper. For the same money, the market is wide open. As mentioned, the GBB 416 is an option. In AEG's you could have an M60 for the ugly or a VFC SCAR-H SSR for the big. In fact, you could have both and still have enough change for any pistol and a Pantac vest.

Just remember; big, ugly and heavy look bloody brilliant on the wall, but are usually a Goddamn nuisance on the field.

Oh, and a full auto Barrett is called a Browning M2!

    Agreed...it's way overpriced.
For the price of that I was able to get my
VFC Scar-L DX (2nd hand)- €280 (one of the best rated Scars out there),
A CA M24 sniper rifle (2nd hand) €280(love sniping plus there about €700 of upgrades done to it..),
Pantac Molle Vest - €85 (worth it for the comfort level)
    KSC M9(2nd hand) - €90
    Blackhawk Serpa - €70
    Magnum Stealth Boots - €70

So I got the above for approx €875.....or you can buy your M82 for the same ;)

So.. buy lots of nice things rather than one pretty nice thing?

I gotta say it does make sense, thanks for the advice

Buy whatever makes you feel happy, the above are just more useful examples. I have a list of rifles I want that I'll never use because they'd be useless on the field, but amazing on the wall. That M82 is on the list.

That said, if you really want a Barrett, Snow Wolf do an M99 (the bolt action, breach load, match version) for about $300. That and a decent high end AEG plus extras (mags, battery etc) would come to about the same cost as the M82. Best of both, to an extent. You still get s big-ass Barrett, but you get something useful too. Smiles all-around.
