Youtube issue

Over the past few days, I've been having a problem when playing playlists on youtube on my mac. It won't load a video, and instead tells me to upgrade flash. Refreshing the page usually sorts it out temporarily, but it happens again with the next video. I've tried upgrading flash, using the link provided, but it did nothing. Then someone recommended I install Perian, which I did, but I'm still getting the "Upgrade Flash" message. Any ideas how to sort this out?

It's a MacBook, 2 months old, running Snow Leopard, if that helps.

Have you any ad blockers installed?

Glimmerblocker, but I've had that for ages, and this problem has only started in the last week.

I'm running Leopard and noticed a similar ish problem on Youtube. Opening videos in a new tab just seems to bring up a blank spot where the video should be. The rest of the page loads fine. Refresh usually does the trick. I'm not really into playlists, however. This is a recent issue, too.

    Sorry to jump in here.

Yeah I don't really use youtube playlists either so there might be a problem there. I would try disabling GlimmerBlocker for a while and see if it makes any difference. YouTube may have changed something on their end which is affecting it. Also, anything such as ClickToFlash.

Thanks folks. Seems like it might be a weird YouTube glitch. I had my playlist as the active tab yesterday, while working on PowerPoint, and it played through just fine. But when I switched to Facebook, that "Upgrade Flash" message started coming up every time the video changed.
