Hi

My Brother has a sony vaio laptop he drop it the the hard drive is knackered.

Nope, should be fine from what I can see. But are you sure its just the HDD that's had it? 2.5" HDDs are usually fairly resistant to nasty drops; many other parts of the laptop aren't so durable
