    A lot of the older 10 Mb hubs/switches used to have a BNC connector so you could link your old Co-Ax Cabled Bus network with the RJ45 cabled star network.

    Another was was to put two different cards in the main server, and have it route traffic between both networks. Very handy if most of the clients mainly access one server and it's for temporary use when switching over IP / cabling or what have you.

    Back in the old combo network cards were common. 10Mb/s with Rj 45, BNC and AUI 15 pin connectors on the one card (of course you could only use one at a time )
