Samsung R530 Ethernet problem

I wonder if anyone could help me with this. Recently purchased a Samsung R530 (red) running Windows 7 (Home Premium) and have tried connecting ethernet cables into the port. Tried it today in the college; the ethernet cable was working because I unplugged it from one of the desktops, where the internet had been working. However, once I plugged it into my laptop, it kept saying that there was no internet connection and that it was an unidentified network.

Relatively new to Windows 7 so unsure if it is a problem with this or the laptop itself. I have downloaded the drivers again from the Samsung website, but to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
