I left a job for a valid reason ( bullying ) last month. However I cant get my P45 or a letter from my old job and therefore cant get and JSA. I have signed on and told to come back next week with a letter, P45 but cant get them. Any advice on this as Im struggling to feed my self( not to mentioned the rent, maintenence etc)

Why can't you get your P45 or a letter from where you worked?

I was in a similar situation two years ago, so I sympathise with you! In my case, the social welfare wanted a letter from me stating the reasons why I left the job, as for the P45 I couldn't get it from my employer either so the SW contacted them on my behalf and I heard nothing more after that so I presume they complied.
In the meantime, go to your Community Welfare Officer at the HSE and they should be able to sort you out with an interim payment while you are waiting for a decision on your SW claim.
Good luck with it all, I know how stressful it is :)

I had awful trouble getting a P45 from the job I left for good reason as well.

Eventually (7 or 8 weeks later I'd say) I sent a letter to Revenue informing them of my former employer's non-compliance with employment law, and CCed the social on it and after that I got approved for JSA along with my backpay.

In the meantime if you're stuck for money visit your Community Welfare Officer (CWO for short, that's what you'll see on this forum anyway) at your Local Health Office/Centre and they'll sort you out. Most CWOs only have one or two clinics a week though so you'll have to find out when yours is - and arrive early. There's usually quite a wait.
