I'm looking for a particular backpack...

    Howdy folks...

No idea where to put this so I thought I'd throw it in here.

Did a FAS course at the start of the year where I met a guy who had a backpack. He informed me he bought it at Tesco a little ago (don't know if he meant weeks, months or years).

It was, apparently, retailing in Tesco for €10. I eventually pestered him enough that he agreed to sell it to me. It's a great backpack... and I want more!

It's a solid, sturdy backpack that can carry everything I need or want, and at €10, it's a steal! Thing is, Tesco don't sell them anymore. So I'm wondering if anyone here bought one and would like to sell on? Knows a shop that have the same backpack hanging on their wall? Has seen them hanging around again in Tesco? Happens to know who make this unbranded backpack? Has a link to one on eBay? etc. etc. etc.

    Here it is in all it's unbranded glory;

Also, It has a laptop (removable) sleeve type thing built into it. I think it was sold specifically as a laptop backpack, but I am not sure.

As a lolcat once said, halp! :)

Have you checked the inside for labels... maybe a particular company or factory made it. Might be something you can google for.

You need MORE than one backpack?
How many arms/shoulders do you have exactly?

I'm breaking into the juggling business.

Nah, I just know that when i rough this one up too much and it falls apart on me, then I'll be raging I never tried ot get a second one.

Plus, the one I currently have is usually housing my laptop/DSLRs/etc. so I'd like another one for other things like when I want to go and buy something awkward that I can just throw in the back or for the gym and such.

I don't want sweaty trunks in the same bag as my cameras. :)

I'll take a look for tags now and I'm not 40 just yet.

EDIT: Not a tag of any description to be found :(

    Right I get ya.

Failing being able to get another one, you could bring the backpack to a sewing shop or maybe a saddler and get it reinforced with extra material in area's of potential weakness.
I'd say spending 20 quid on it now, in its current state would definitely increase the lifespan of it greatly.

Most likely the guy was lieing about it being €10 but he didnt want to come across as a bit of a flash git by saying it was €150, then it backfired on him when you wouldnt stop annoying him about it so he cut his losses and sold it to you just to get rid of you.

When it gets damaged simply find someone else with a bag you like and annoy them mercilessly until they sell it to you, why mess with a proven method?

    Good news:
it appears to be a Kensington laptop Backpack

    Bad news:
you wuz robbed: I bought mine for a fiver

    Worse news:
was reduced from €35.39, so the chances of getting it so cheap again are slim

    Worst possible news:
    no, I won't sell you mine! :P

Is it just me, or do people who wear backpacks look just a wee bit odd?

Using the word "trunks" indicates that you're 40+.

    Congratulations, old man

Aldi have laptop backpack as a special this Sunday for €17.99.

    http://www.aldi.ie/ie/html/offers/special_buys3_12728.htm

They are quite handy as they have a sleeve inside for the lappy which makes taking it in and out at Airport security that little bit easier.

I have one from Argos I bought over a year ago for nearly €40!

Still I have since found it to be a cumbersome nuisance and am going to buy a netbook just solely for travelling as it weighs less, is easier for security and if you lose it or have it stolen then you won't have lost all your files etc. All I use a lappy for abroad is checking google earth for locations a bit of web browsing and emails!
