Saw a new BMW 3-series (silver iirc) driving through Beaumont Hospital last weekend. It had a weird reg plate on the back.....and before you say it, it wasn't a garage/delivery plate....I thought it was from another country but it was RHD and the plate had a Maxwell Motors surround.
    Reg was UNP 168
Also it was a white plate with black writing.

Well anyone know what it was?

Sounds like it was a trade plate to me.

Trade plates are usually green ending with the year...eg....12345 KY 10

I'd say it could belong to one of the consulates/embassies?

They normally have normal plates with a CD on them

There are 6 countries that use this combination of reg plates. They are Sweden, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Lithuania and Belgium. Could be any of these !

Well I doubt it was any of them in the EU as it was a white plate no EU bits on it. Also it was RHD, they're all LHD countries I believe? Plus it definitely has maxwell motors surrounds on the plate, so it was probably there at some stage.

Yep, wasn't green and wasn't the right combination of numbers/letters for those.
Thought it could be an embassy plate. Maybe the UN??

That registration would have been issued to an Irish person working on an overseas UN Mission and if it has a Maxwell Motors sticker on the window, you can take it that the car was ordered here and shipped free of duties to the individual who was attached to some UN Mission. Once the BMW is brought back in here, it can only be driven by the person that used it abroad and it cannot be sold for 12 months after clearance.
