shoes are a very personal thing. no-one on here can tell you what size your feet are - is that what your after?

I wouldn't buy shoes without trying them on first, which is why i always buy this type of thing local.

Hypothetically speaking, if i was looking at shoes around that price point nad was prepared to buy online, i'd be looking at the deal that Planet X have on the time shoes.

The shoes you are looking at will work fine with the pedals you have listed though, as will 95% of cycling shoes. They just need a 3 hole drilling.

Also will these pedals work with the shoes above.

    Yes!

@OP. I bought precisely these shoes last year (and they're fine). I'm also a size nine: I'll check what size I actually ordered but I've a feeling it was a 43 (i.e. a nine). That said, I've different experience with shoes from other manufacturers. I've a set of Shimano MTB shoes which I ordered in a 44 after it was obvious the 43 was uncomfortably tight.

    I've gathered the following from the various shoe discussions (open to correction);
    Shimano are small fitting,
    SIDI are narrow fitting,
    Specialized are neutral.

I would try on a pair before you buy.

Actually there are 187 reviews of those shoes, if you read them you'll begin to see a pattern if people are buying a size up, size down or sticking. Click the 'Customer Review' tab.

There are three holes where the cleats screw into. Pedals for road bike generally take a cleat that screws in using three screws.

Mountain bike pedals use a different system that use two screws.

Now i'm even more confused. Do i need to buy cleats as well ???

Sorry i'm new to all this and haven't got a clue !!!

Do i need to buy pedals, cleats and shoes.........or just shoes and pedals.....

I bought shimano mtb spd pedals which came with cleats. I think in general cleats do come with pedals but never with shoes... One way or another you need all three items to connect foot to pedal

Just to clarify it for you the cleats always come with the pedals!:)

yeah. I'd recommend getting the shoes in a bike shop if it's your first pair and unsure of sizing!

I recently got Look Keo Classics pedals and these Shimano shoes in Hollingsworth, Templeouge for €130 which is pretty much the same price as on the internet!

Right, got home and checked out the size of my DHBs. Turns out they are a 44 (I.e. a size larger than I take in ordinary shoes)

Bought a pair of Specialized Works Road Shoes last month.

Was wearing a pair of Specialized (old, about 4 yrs. old) beforehand, size 44.

Had done my Interweb homework etc etc and had narrowed it down to Primera in UK. Decent price.

Went into Cycleways in Parnell St. "Just for a try on". Decent price, happy with a size 43. Similar price to UK. For Pig Iron, I asked for discount, he asked me, "What club are you in?" I divluged.
    10% off.
Ended up with a slightly cheaper shoe than I would have bought off UK.
    Happy days.

    ASK!

They rock, came fourth last in my last club race.

Was in Joe Dalys yesterday (Monday) before meeting up with the two lads, saw these, tried a different pair of Shimanos on and they fitted so I asked for the R086 in the same size which they were out of. I asked if they could send them to Kilkenny, no problem. I know they're cheaper on CRC but that money saved isn't worth a toss if you receive ilfitting shoes and have to keep firing them back and forth. The shoes arrived today which I was well impressed with. I'm off tomorrow (Wednesday) and it's a lovely treat to have my shiny new shoes to go cycling in before the weather gets crap again.
