I am intrigued by this as even the eBay spokesman referred to it as 'morally unacceptable' but illegal?? Everybody knows that some people bid up their items be it on an internet auction or at normal sales but while they risk being frowned upon and may, indeed, if not careful end up buying their own lot and being out of pocket - is it illegal?

Shill Bidding, it contravenes Ebay's T&C.
