    hi
in our apartment block at parkwest, the sky communal dish has been installed.
    we had smart tv previously
they are charging installation for sky now and said they have to activate/enable something
i am keen on FTA channels only
so i bought a sky box and connected to the existing tv point in the house
    but cant see any signals
do they have to enable for each house in the building?
    any experience in the past?

Yeah, they will have to connect the dish (LNB cables) to your apartment and for this charge you an installation fee to cover their set-up costs.

If its an independent installer, that should be it and you should be good to go with FTA channels.

If it's Sky (i.e. http://www.skyinyourapartment.ie/), then you have to pay the same install fee AND probably subscribe to Sky for 12 months. They will give you a new free HD box I believe....if your a new customer.
