    I go through stages in my life. I don't really want to start playing WoW again, but I just get bored. I'm afraid to start again...

    Persuade me either way. Should I start playing or not?

    No one can convince you either way about something like this. You already know the reasons for playing and the reasons for not, all people can do is repeat them for you; perhaps with a different accent...

    If boredom is the only reason for wanting to start back playing WoW, then I can tell you already that it is doomed for failure. If you quit WoW once already, then it is most likely due to boredom in the first place. That isn't likely to have changed though you may have forgotten it by now. So you'll resub, play for a few days, weeks or maybe months but eventually you'll be right back where you were the last time you quit.

    Perhaps you should try some other games, or take up a hobby? Learn a language you always wanted to, spend some time with family and/or friends, socialise more or maybe even, dare I say it... look after yourself a bit more? :)

    If none of these grabs your interest, then by all means go back to WoW. It is a truly brilliant game, one you can get many hours of enjoyment out of and meet many great people in...

    Just make sure it is for the right reason; because you want to, not the wrong reason; because you feel you don't have anything else to do with your spare time. :)

    Why did you stop playing last time?

    A good few friends of mine have come back and love it now. They left because they hadnt got the time to invest in end game.

    But now they can, at their own pace, gather the triumph badges gear and do their dailies and voas to get a little bit of gear. It has spurred them into putting a little more focus into end game. They run their tocs and voas a week, and they eventually got into icc.

    Started on 4/4, got the gear, then moved onwards and upwards.

    There is a lot less barrier to entry to end game nowadays.

    OP you sound like me in ways.
    Ive quit and resubbed many many times and always quit for the same reason.
    That being wow to me is all about raiding , 100% raiding and nothing else.
    Ive countless alts and im only interested in raiding,the problem is i just dont have the time for raiding anymore and i always end up quitting for the same reason over and over.

    This time im away from the game longer than ever and seriously dont miss it in the slightest.
    Maybe you should do what i do and that is play some single player RPG games.
    There are so many to choose from.
    Im playing dragon age and mass effect 2 at the moment and they are frigging awesome.

    The lads have already offered some sound advice,i can only echo what they said and to offer some gaming and rpg alternatives like ive just mentioned.

    My gut feeling is no you shouldnt resub.

    Tbh, if I was you, I'd wait till the "summer" was over! expansion is prob out around October or November, crappy weather, short days, thats the time to play WoW :)

    2010 arena season registrations just started up. 15eur + sub to get in. You get 3 character slots, instant gold, etc. etc. so the only thing seperating everyone in the Arena realms should be talent.

    I quit recently, and for the 1st time in a long time, i have absolutly no interest in coming back. I probably will at some stage (Cata or whenever), but nothing about the game interests me at the moment.

    So, just so I'm clear on this. You are not only paying for the game, the expansions and the subs to play it. Your also now paying extra to sign up to a pvp competition.

    Well its a level playing field. Everyone gets access to the same loadouts. Like a glorified Counterstrike tournie.

    Still no desire to come back for me. I'll take a look around when Cata is released, as i cant wait to see how the new world looks with flying mounts. But thats about it really.

    still but gear is redundant then as you have the choice of the same items and it comes down to individual skill , which is where my point came in :P
