Window frame sizes vs window opening size?

Quick question before I order my windows:

I have external insulation on some windows (using SEI grant of 4k to upgrade house Im extending) - the inside face of the window frame will be installed flush with the outside of the blockwork, and the external window reveal will be formed by the 150mm external insulation.

I also have natural sandstone reveals wrapping around the blockwork on some windows - on these windows the insulated frames will be strapped to the inside face of the external blockwork.

I also have napped plaster reveals on some windows - the insulated frames will be strapped to the inside face of the external blockwork.

I have measured the blockwork openings and my best guess is:

External insulation - make the windows the same size as the window opening

Natural stone reveals - make the window frames 20mm bigger than the widest and tallest part of the opening (I have natural variation of 10mm on the stonework). Seal using expanding foam tape and possibly silicon sealant over this. Problem might be that a lot of the window frame will disappear behind the stonework - but I want to be able to see the frames...

Napped plaster reveals - make the windows 20mm smaller all around and use non hardening foam (illbruck, hilti, etc) to seal and edge insulate. Then plaster over.

    Does this make sense?

    Cheers,

    Steve
