Need some help with a major stutter issue with my PlayTV unit when watching live tv. Last night turned on my PS3(Ver. 3.21 free space 110gb/149gb), went to PlayTV(Ver. 01.21) and hit live tv icon, RTE DTT(Maghera) picture and sound suffering from really bad stutter on all channnels.

PlayTV was set up as follows: Region/location-other
    Background recording-yes
    Buffer live tv-only when paused

Checked connections, tried different usb port on PS3,changed usb cable-still stuttering.
Did a new full set up again with signal strength at 100%-still stuttering.

Pause live tv works but on replay DTT picture briefly plays normally but then DTT stutter begins again.
Set a program to record, after a few minutes hit play while recording was in progress, still stuttering. Stopped recording, went to library and hit play on same recording, same result-stutter.
Now here's the curious thing, moved same recording to home menu on PS3
and recording plays seamlessly with no stutter. Also other previous recordings from DTT that were moved to home menu play ok as well and there is also some avi and mp4 files that are stored on the PS3 that play flawlessly as well.
Anybody have any ideas as to a solution or what's causing the problem?

you are not alone, I have a sigmatek 500 and same thing, I thought it was the box, RTENL are messing again, I dont know why as the whole thing works ok and has done for ages.

I have a combo box as well, thats a bit better but sync is a problem.

:) PlayTV LiveTv working normally again this evening no freezing/stuttering of any of the rte dtt channels.
Found this article online, i know it's in relation to satellite communications but any chance the volcanic ash has an affect on dtt signals as well?

guardian.co.uk/technology/blog That volcano could also mess up satellite comms, experts warn
