Hi. got an old, battleaxe 80gb classic. Not been working great lately, usually only about to snch about 200 at most songs to it max without the whole operation ****ing up, which suits me grand, 200 is alright for planning a days listening.

but for the last few days, everytime i connect the ipod to the computer, itunes freezes. I've updated itunes, but same fault.reinstalled itunes, same fault. when i unplug the ipod usb from the computer , itunes starts working, and displays the message tellign me my ipod is corrupt or something, and i need to restore it using itunes.

But how am I supposed to restore it using iTunes when iTunes freezes every time I connect the ipod?!?

anyone have a clue on what I should do?

Ipod is about 2 years out of warrenty, so cant go down the apple route
