I know this has probly been asked before but here goes....
I bought a new stereo for the van and I'm havin the problem that it doesn't turn off when I turn off the ignition, I have to turn it off seperatly.
I've done a search online and everybody says switch the red and the yellow wires which I have tried but it doesn't seem to be working!!

Basically I have 2 yellow wires and 3 red!
I connected the yellow to the yellow and red to the red, with a spare red which has a cap on it!!

I then changed and connected the reds to the yellows.....still not turning off with ignition:mad:

People also said that the radio wire might be on the wrong battery terminal but it was truning off when the standard radio was in it so I presume it is on the right terminal......

    Anyone any ideas??

get a multi meter and find which one of your cables is 12v ignition. It may not be the red or yellow cable. It could be a different one.

you have somethign similar to this http://www.avforums.com/forums/attachments/car-entertainment-ice/16713d1123111273-pioneer-deh1590r-cd-radio-fiat-punto-harnessadaptor.jpg ? basically the normal configurations to try are :

    Head unit end
    Car ISO connector end
    RED
    RED
    YELLOW
    YELLOW

    RED
    Yellow
    YELLOW
    Red

if either of those dont work then youll have to go further back beyond the ISO connector to find out incase theres no ACC line and the red and yellow have both been wired to the constant 12V , a voltmeter will tell you this, but jap cars tend to be the normal red-red , european tend to be red-yellow for some reason

Thats what I have alright, except I don't have the blue wires........I was talking to someone today who said I needed to run an extra wire to the fuse box, just a quik job and should cost only about €20.

    Hopefully that will sort it!
