What to write on wedding invitations

    Hi,

My finace and I are looking for advice. We're getting married in the summer and are very lucky to have both our parents are helping us out financing the wedding. We're wondering what we should write on the invitations. I got the feeling speaking to my mom that she and my dad would like to be named on the invite. However we don't want to offend my fiance's parents and to send the invites from just ourselves seems to disregard the fact that both are helping us out. Has anyone been in the same situation? What should we do?

    Heya!
Myself and the fiance recently ordered out invitations, but unlike yourselves its solely her parents on the invitations. From where we ordered the invitations, there are sample wordings to be had to see what suits etc. If you click the following link and then on the Left hand side click Wording 7, then i think this one hits the nail on the head in relation to your situation....... Seems to be the best thing to do in your situation as it keeps both sets of Parents named and does not exclude either.

    Or you could have:

    Jane & John
    together with their parents
Mr & Mrs Jane and Mr & Mrs John
    request the pleasure etc etc

    Its a bit less formal.
