    This has probably been covered here before, so I'm sorry if it has but here goes,
    I'm looking at a car that is 25 years old on northern irish plates so this car requires vrt as this car is only about five hundred euro will the vrt be calculated on this amount or is there a minimum payment?
    2 will this car be eligible for zv plates or does it have to have 85 wx XXX?
    3 will I get caught for emmisions based road tax?

    1) €720 minimum VRT (the lowest OMSP value the Revenue do is €2000, no emissions data = 999g/km = 36% VRT.)
    2) Not eligible for ZV plates
    3) Motor Tax based on engine cc.
