    Hi All,
I am applying for rent allowance of the HSE and i'm unsure about what to put in the section regarding rental history.

2007 to April 2009 -Rented apartment
    Apr 2009 - Oct 2009 - stayed with parents
Oct 2009 to present - sharing house (no lease)

Will it jeopardize my chances if I say I was at home?

Read the last bit on the form. It says something along the lines that it is an offence to give false information

All the information regarding rent supplement rules and criteria are publicly available on www.welfare.ie

Afaik they are being pretty strict in most places on the 6 month rule. You have to be in the rented accomadotion for 6 months before you will get rent allowance. So if your looking for rent allowance for the accomodation your in now since october you might get it. However you do need to produce a copy of the lease so you need one.

Your landlord must fill in part of the application too and you will be subject to a visit from your local cwo.

Also you may only be eligible for a certain amount, so if your rent is too high they will not give you rent allowance and tell you to move to cheaper accomodation.

thanks for replies. I meet the HSE on Monday, I don't have a lease but have bank records of payment and a rent book. I've read the rules and don't see where it stipulates a lease.
