Ok, So I forgot to take saturdays pill, normally take it at 10pm. Took it sunday around 4pm and took sunday pill around 10pm. Had sex sunday.

Have a stomach bug was sick last night (sunday) and today... Which means pill could be ineffective.

All clinics are closed now because it's after 5, I really don't want a call out.

Anyone offer advice, I've already taken map before, really don't want to resort to it again, how likely is it that I'm in trouble

It depends on several factors - the key one being where you are in your menstrual cycle and your pill type.

In reality, the best course of action is to take the MAP, which is best taken within 72 hours of intercourse.

    Hi

Sounds like you need the morning after. Better safe than sorry.

its prob to early after break for you to have ovulated but just to be on the safe side go to doc- do you have a 24hr call in clinic anywhere around?

    OP here.

Only 24hr services are call outs. I don't think i'll get much chance tomorrow to go either, except the afternoon. I'll have to go to a family planning clinic too, when I got the MAP before I went to GP, will this affect me getting it at fpc?

Also from looking up my situation on pill websites etc, the info says that diarrhea that is continous for 1-2 days, is where the pill will become ineffective. I only had 2 instances of diarrhea, and at that not severe (sorry for the detail).

I guess my real concern is the late pill taking. Especially as it's the second in the pack. Does anyone know if can ring the fpc or gp and ask for advice before turning up on the doorstep, as I really don't have the time (as stupid as that sounds).

    Thank you

All you need is a doctor to examine you and prescribe the MAP. The Family Planning Clinic will do that - you may need to ring and make an appointment. Explain about the timeframe involved.

OP - why though did you have unprotected sex when you had missed the window for the pill? That is asking for trouble.

    Thank you for the responces.

Dudara, I'm not sure answering your question will help my situation , but yes I am a stupid tit.

Which pill are you on? some start the day you finish you period, so 7 days after would be at risk, I would definitely take morning after. I understand you dont like reaction, but its that or get pregnant.

I came here simply looking for advice, very appreciative of it.

I am on yasmin. As I've taken the MAP before, do you think it will be an issue in getting it this time, fpc website is quite vague on details and I won't be able to ring till morning.

There won't be a problem getting it again - they will ask you if you've had it before though.

I wasn't trying to be smart - so apologies if it came across that way. I was trying assess how clued in you are about the pill. You wouldn't believe the lack of knowledge that pops here on a regular basis.

Shouldn't be any issue getting it again. I know some doctors keep a track of how often they prescribe it for some patients - mainly because it is quite a heavy dose of hormones and they want to monitor the patients.

    OP here.

FPC couldn't be more helpful, sorted in less than 10 mins. Very accomodating I must say. Compared to my experience with my GP anyway.

Thanks all your responces. Defintely right decision, even if just for peace of mind.

For anyone that needs to know it was €50.
