how much grass seed?

i have a raised percolation area at the back that i have just tidied up and want to shake some grass seed on it before the weekend rain. how much seed per metre squared?

An ounce per square yard or square meter should do the job. That's approximately a handful, although that will obviously depend on the size of your hands. If it's going onto loose soil give it a rake afterwards to make it a bit harder for the birds to find it all. Sprinkle something like compost or grass clipping on top of it if the ground isn't really rakeable.
