    My wife left our home 7 Weeks ago. She is not a European citizen & because we are both not working (officially), I am claiming her as a Dependant. We have a 3ry old son. My question is, In 4 months time when I file for legal separation, I know I will loose her as a Dependant but will my rent allowance suffer from this too? She's now working illegally to pay for her rent etc..
    I still want my marriage to work & thats why I haven't said anything about our separation to the welfare office. She is living here 2yrs now. Is she entitled to anything herself when we seperate? can she claim for rent allowance etc...? We all have medical cards too? will she loose her medical card ? Will I or my son?

    We cannot help you here if you are not being completely honest with the Departmant of social welfare.
