Headphones for ipod

I've always been someone who wears out the packaged headphones that come with my mp3 player, and then pops into hmv when they break to buy the cheapest set he can find.

Obviously the quality isn't great, and i'm having to play at absurdly high (and rude) volumes.
As I spend around 4 hours a day commuting and most of that time listening to music, i'm looking to get a set that will cut out some external noise, allowing me to play at lower volumes, and that are of a pretty good quality (i'd imagine anything would be a step up from what i'm used to.)

I'd like to spend no more than 50-60 euro, and i'm looking for over-ear ones.

There are several sets in HMV and Tower i was looking at. Mostly Sony and Sennheiser if i remember correctly. Could anyone recommend a set in that price range, that i good get in a Dublin shop?

    Thanks.
