Crossfader vs Upfader

I've been thinking about this recently, is there any right way of using the faders? I've recently heard people giving out about other DJs because they don't use the crossfader, just the upfader, and have also heads DJs saying that the crossfader is the lazy way of doing it...I'd generally use a mix of both, but I'd like to see which people generally use.

Which do you generally use? 7 votes

save yourself a lot of hassle in life and do whatever works best for you

i find that when looking for advice i get sh1t and when i try give advice nobody listens so i just give up

do what i want to do and let nobodies opinions have an effect on me

(unless they are right of course but most of the time they are mind numbingly off the mark)

getting back to c/f or u/f, in my experience there are times when one or the other are needed in the mix, the link to the vid below is an excellent use of the u/f by eddie halliwell,

i like to use this style myself during peak time performances but generally i use the c/f, sometimes i have one hand on the c/f and other on the u/f, there is no exact science to it :)

    hope this helps
