Where would you find information on this? Has anyone here done it? Is it a good time to even consider these two options?

Finally someone who is at the same stage as me! There is a website Canadavisa, I believe, who will give you step by step instructions - there is a link to Australia on that as well. Irish 12 month working visa to Canada are now full for this year but there are several other routes you can go and itll give you the info there. Happy hunting!

Great stuff, thanks. I'm only looking at the options at the minute as I am at a point where the job I (hopefully) eventually get will be one I have for a long time. Added to that, I have young children so now might be a good time to consider it. Having said that, I like my home country a lot!
