Hi, I hope this is the right forum for this question!

I have been asked to be a Godmother and the christening is at the end of this week. I have only been to one christening in my adult life so I was hoping someone could tell me what to expect at the ceremony and what the godparents roles in the ceremony are.

    Thanks :)

here is a quick search I did for you on Catholic answers, all answers are replied to by a Catholic Apologist.

As far as I know, you just stand by the parents when the Child is being baptised, and get some photos taken afterwards, you dont have to do anything too major in the ritual sense of it as far as I'm aware.

    Congratulations on being a godparent:)

I recall when I was made Godfather to my nephew, at the end the priest asked me if the parents died would you bring the child up in the catholic community.

I stood for my nephew despite not being Catholic. My brother didnt mind, even when I told him I would answer no to the above question!
