    Anyone did this, then?

I did the road run as part of a relay team and felt like a complete fraud running past the exhausted guys who had already been across Connor Pass and Mount Brandon.

Nice report on your blog. Great to see the legend that is Lenihan running. A pity he wasn't able to line up last week for the Carrantoohill race but fitting that his record for the old route is cemented in history.

Great to see the legend that is Lenihan running.

You can say that again, and in my case it was literally true. I felt really privileged being able to watch him coming down the mountain for the last few minutes. He's an unbelievable athlete.

A legend that man Leinhan for sure and very gracious in cheering for us all after he was finished his leg too.

The weather was great and the route up Conor Pass on the bike spread the field out quickly before the real racing started on Mount Brandon itself.

It was here that John moved his relay team into a clear lead that was never going to be relinguished and also where the overall solo winner Diarmuid Collins moved up from mid pack after the bike to a close second solo starting the road run after which he was never going to be caught.

Well run race overall in a super area with lots of locals involved especially in relay teams.

Great race, ran the mountain leg as part of a relay team and had the privilege of eating John's dust as he passed me on the way up!
Well done to the organiser's and definitely one to consider for the future.

I did the kayak part for a relay team. Thanks to the other guys on the team we were in a good position. The kayaking was a bit too easy for fresh competitors I think. The good conditions made it a somewhat uncompetitive leg too. That said, I would not have enjoyed doing it if I was a solo competitor. How those guys were still going at that stage is beyond me.

Any sign of the split times yet?

The Split times are up, Lenihan doesn't seem to have dibbed in at the summit but looking at the other times, he did the mountain in about 65 minutes.

Our kayaker said something similar about his leg and he's an awful lazy git, so it must have been easy;)

The guy bringing the SI station had not reached the top by the time the first few got there hence no climb times for a few of us. No doubting John had the fastest climb and descent tho.

For Kayakers that leg was prob a bit easy but for the majority of the field it was probably plenty as many struggled a bit with keeping the boats straight in the cross winds - always has to be somewhat of a compromise between making a kayak leg too easy and accessible for all.
