Anyone have any info about the racing events this weekend. From cycling Ireland:

    Sat 24th
    Peter Bidwell Memorial - Donore

    Sun 25th
    Coombes Connor Memorial - Drogheda
    McCann Cup - Fintona
    Silver Pail GP - Fermoy

That's about as much as I can gleam from the fountain of information that is the CI website.

I was hoping for some info on the route Hilly or flat? Loops of a tight circuit or open? Good or bad roads? Popular or quiet event?

The Peter Bidwell is a short loop which is quite up and down.

The Conor Coombes has a savage but short climb which always catches some by surprise.

Both are quite popular and well run.

I knew Peter Bidwell and he was a great guy.
Rode the RAS a number of times and was a volunteer until his untimely death a couple of years ago.

The Silver Pail GP in Cork is more or less completely pan flat as I recall.

Any idea of the route? I like the idea of a 9am start. With the midday starts the whole day is gone on racing.

EDIT: IVCA == Vets. Does that mean only open to vets?

Does anybody have a linky to a route for the Coombes-Connor or Peter Bidwell memorials next weekend?

    I presume Bidwell is handicapped?

I did Coombes Connor last year. From memory, I think the hill was taken out of it.

Anyone a route for Drogheda? And from past experiences, any places better than others for spectators?

id agree with Quigs Snr here. pretty much a flat left hand circuit. good fast race. Might make the journey to that one.

Does anyone know anything about Drogheda route for Sunday. Also are the races seperate particularly the A3 and A4.

I believe it is a flat enough routs and could be dangerous enough is this correct?

Any input would be great guys and ladies.

I heard that there's a decent enough climb on it - not unlike the one in stamullen last weekend. Although I also heard that they took the climb out of the circuit last year - not sure why.
